The Australian Ringneck is a medium-sized parrot endemic to Australia, found across a wide range of habitats from arid inland regions to open woodlands and tree-lined watercourses, with four distinct subspecies spread across central, western, and parts of eastern and northern Australia. It feeds mainly on the ground and in trees, consuming seeds, fruits, flowers, nectar, and insects, and is known to forage on spilt grain along roadsides.
