The Eastern Yellow Robin is a medium-sized Australasian robin found along coastal and sub-coastal eastern Australia, from the southeast corner of South Australia through Victoria, New South Wales, and up to Cooktown in Queensland, with northern populations favouring the uplands of the Great Dividing Range. It feeds mainly on insects, spiders, and other small arthropods, which it captures by pouncing from low perches in shaded habitats such as woodlands, forests, and scrub near water.
