The Scarlet Robin is a small, stocky passerine with a bright scarlet breast in males and duller brownish plumage in females, found across southern and eastern Australia including southeastern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and parts of southwest Western Australia. It feeds mainly on arthropods such as insects and spiders, foraging from low perches or on the ground and sometimes gleaning prey from bark and foliage.
