The Spangled Drongo is a glossy black bird with iridescent blue-green highlights and a distinctive forked tail, found across northern and eastern Australia, from the Kimberley and Top End to eastern Queensland and New South Wales, as well as in New Guinea and parts of Indonesia. It feeds on insects, small vertebrates, and occasionally nectar and fruit, often performing acrobatic aerial maneuvers to catch prey mid-flight or foraging among foliage.
