The Spotted Pardalote is a tiny, jewel-like bird found in eastern and southern Australia—from Cooktown in Queensland to Perth in Western Australia—inhabiting eucalypt forests, woodlands, and urban parks with dense canopy cover. It feeds primarily on psyllids and their sugary lerps, gleaning insects and exudates from foliage high in the canopy, and plays a vital role in maintaining forest health.
