The Yellow Thornbill is a tiny, bright yellow songbird found throughout eastern and southeastern Australia—from northern Queensland to eastern South Australia—inhabiting open forests, woodlands, shrublands, and established parks dominated by casuarinas, acacias, and paperbarks. It feeds mainly on insects and other invertebrates gleaned from foliage, occasionally supplementing its diet with seeds, and often joins mixed-species feeding flocks.
